FAQ

Questions, answered.

How does the trial work?
Install GridTree and sign in to use the free Community edition. You can start a 14-day Pro trial whenever you want, which unlocks private repos and Jira. Cancel anytime before it ends and you won't be charged. When the trial's over you fall back to Community. Nothing breaks, you just lose the Pro-only integrations until you subscribe.
Does GridTree work with GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Enterprise or self-hosted Git?
Yes, on Pro. Community is for public GitHub.com repos only. Private GitHub.com repos and other Git hosts (GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Enterprise or self-hosted) require Pro. Local git operations work the same regardless of host. The Pro gate is on the host itself.
Is Pro per user or per machine?
Per user. Sign in on as many machines as you want (work desktop, laptop, the box at home) and the same licence covers them all. Business adds seat management so admins can hand out and revoke seats centrally.
What runs on your servers vs. on my machine?
Source code, terminals and git operations are 100% local. GridTree is a desktop app and never uploads your code. The only thing that touches our servers is licensing (account, subscription state) and, optionally, the integrations you wire up to GitHub and Jira via their own OAuth flows.
